To convert hours to minutes, multiply by 60. To convert minutes to hours, divide by 60. The common mistake is reading a decimal fraction of an hour as minutes: 1.5 hours means 90 minutes, not 1 hour and 5 minutes or 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Read decimal hours correctly
For 2.25 hours, keep the two complete hours and multiply the remaining 0.25 by 60. That gives 15 minutes, so the duration is 2 hours and 15 minutes. The same duration contains 135 minutes in total.
Going the other way, 2 hours and 45 minutes becomes 2 + 45 ÷ 60 = 2.75 hours. Enter 2.75, not 2.45, when an input expects decimal hours. A colon format such as 2:45 belongs to a different kind of input.
Does converting days account for clock changes?
No. This duration converter uses fixed units: a day is 24 hours and a week is seven days. It does not compare local timestamps across daylight-saving changes.
When should I round?
Keep the available precision during intermediate calculations and round the final value according to your reporting needs.
Write the unit beside every result. A bare number such as 90 is easy to misread when copied into a spreadsheet, timetable, or project note.
