Your age depends on both your birth date and the date you are calculating for. Subtracting birth years alone can overstate your age when your birthday has not happened yet. For an ordinary calendar check, compare the years, then account for the remaining months and days.
Enter two complete dates
Open the Tolibox age calculator. Enter your Date of birth and choose the date under Calculate age on. Select Run tool to view years, months, days, and the total day count.
For a clear example, use June 15, 2000 as the birth date and September 3, 2026 as the calculation date. The calendar result is 26 years, 2 months, and 19 days. The birthday in June has already passed, which is why the completed-year figure is 26.
Change the calculation date to June 14, 2026 and the completed-year figure should be 25, not 26. That one-day difference explains why simply subtracting 2000 from 2026 is insufficient before the birthday.
Check what the result is for
A form may ask only for completed years. Another may need a birth date rather than a calculated age. Follow the field's instructions instead of inserting every number the calculator provides.
Calendar months are not fixed thirty-day blocks. Month-end dates and February 29 birthdays can require a specific anniversary convention. Treat unusual month-end breakdowns as a check to review, not an official eligibility decision. For a legal or administrative requirement, confirm the receiving organization's rules.
Can I calculate age at a past event?
Yes. Set the calculation date to that event's date, provided it comes after the birth date.
Should I divide total days by 365?
Not for an exact calendar age. Leap years and the position of the birthday affect the result.
Save the reference date with the result; an age without its calculation date can become misleading later.
